What made you become a Carer?
I became a carer because I wanted to give something back to people and help them in their time of need. I found that caring for people is extremely rewarding and I enjoy the difference I make in people’s lives. There is just something about caring and helping people that makes me feel good and that makes me smile and that’s a feeling I don’t want to lose.
What do you think is the biggest challenge of working in care?
The biggest challenge of working in care is supporting people and families through some of the hardest times of their life. But being able to support them through this and help them make it to the other side is also one of the best feelings.
What do you enjoy the most about your job in care?
My favourite part about working in care is getting to know people we support on a personal level. Hearing them tell stories about their life and reminiscing with them. We spend so much time with people we support, and I believe it’s really important to develop positive relationships with everyone.
What attracted you to work for Care is Central?
I was attracted to working with Care is Central due to the fact that their values match my own. Quality care is the most important aspect for everyone, and I want to contribute to Care is Central continuing to provide the highest standard of care with compassion and dignity.
