Meet Laura, Service Manager

Laura has worked in the care sector for over 20 years now. She has held a number of roles working as a care worker, a senior care worker and a registered manager of domiciliary care services until joining Care is Central as a Service Manager. Find out more below.

What made you want a career in the care sector?

I started working in care straight from school (after a brief spell in sales), I have always had an interest in looking after our older generation and that only grew stronger after watching my grandparents receiving care at home. My passion is end of life care; I think a dignified death is something we all deserve.

What do you think is the biggest challenge of working in care?

This job can be very emotionally challenging, sometimes it is hard to separate work and personal attachments to our clients.

What do you enjoy the most about your job in care?

I love being able to help people live as independently as possible, knowing they have a safe and caring team to assist when needed.

What attracted you to work for Care is Central?

I am most looking forward to being part of a team and working together. Being able to work for a fairly new company and sharing ideas is exciting.

What are you looking forward to most in your role?

I am hoping that together with the team leaders we can run safe, effective and cohesive services that enhance the lives of our clients.
