Meet Summer, Senior Carer at Priory View
Summer has worked in the care industry for about 3 years. She started her career in a residential home. She then wanted to move to independent living so she could help people live more independent lives. Find out more below.
What made you want a career in the care sector?
I have always wanted a career in the care sector ever since I was young. Most of my family work in the care sector and I think that’s what attracted me to the care industry, as I could see how much it helped people.
What do you think is the biggest challenge of working in care?
The biggest challenge is how fast the pace is in an independent living service. I also enjoy this though, as every day is different.
What do you enjoy the most about your job in care?
The thing I love most about working in care is building positive relationships with clients. It makes you feel good when you support them with day to day tasks, whether this be ordering medication for them or having a chat and a cup of tea with them.
What attracted you to work for Care is Central?
After researching the company, I loved their values and felt they aligned with mine.
What are you looking forward to most in your role?
I am most looking forward to working with a great team and learning new things, expanding my knowledge, and helping people live as independently as they can.
