Head of Home Care

Central Bedfordshire
Full time
£50,000-£60,000

We are looking for a dynamic Head of Home Care to join the team at Care is Central. You will have experience in setting up domiciliary care services and operating them as well as, ideally, experience in managing Independent Living Schemes.

We currently have five Independent Living Schemes throughout Central Bedfordshire in Ampthill, Leighton Buzzard, Houghton Regis and Dunstable, with more planned for the future. And we are about to launch our Domiciliary Care Service across the region. This is an exciting step in the Care is Central journey and this role will play a pivotal role in achieving this. Our Head of Care will help create the ethos and culture as well as the policies and processes that we use today as well as into the future. This is no ordinary role where you are handed a set of policies and processes on day one and told to follow the rule book. We are looking for a leader who can help write that rule book.

As well as being a proven leader, with at least 2 years of experience at a management level, you will need to be a proven history of delivering excellent results.

Requirements:

*Proven skills in managing resources within agreed budget limits

*An ability to recruit, manage and inspire staff, as well as resolve staffing issues and introduce effective solutions

*Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills and ability to communicate with people of all levels and abilities.

*Ability to manage time effectively and work to agreed goals and deadlines.

*Ability to work creatively in the provision of person-centered services.

*Proven skills in reviewing, monitoring, and implementing new working practices.

*Ability to work with people with learning disabilities, mental health, and autism and their families or carers to identify wishes, choices, and support.

*A flexible approach and willingness to work in an environment of change and innovation.

*Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and national guidelines and how they relate to the provision of residential support to adults with learning disabilities, mental health, and autism.

*A good understanding of the National Health and Social Care agenda particularly as it relates to adults with learning disabilities, mental health, and autism.

So, if you are a caring and capable Head of Care or Home Care Manager, as comfortable running a business as you are checking care plans; as confident managing regulations as leading a team, and as relaxed recruiting the best talent as you are dealing with families and loved ones, please get in touch.
