Introducing our General Manager at Honeysuckle House
Ranjit has worked in the care industry for over ten years in a variety of care settings and management positions before taking over as General Manager for Marigold House Care Home in Leighton Buzzard and then Acting COO for Care is Central. From owning his own care homes, working in the corporate world with destressed care homes and turning them around to commissioning brand new care homes. Find out more about his experience below.
What has been the biggest challenge in your career to date?
COVID-19 by far must be number one on the list. It was unprecedented times as no one knew much about COVID or how to handle and manage the situation. Care homes went into lockdown with families unable to visit their loved ones and residents were unable to leave the service. It was a worrying time for staff and residents.
What are you most proud of?
Being able to support and help distressed care homes with poor CQC ratings and get them back on track, changing the environment from being negative to a happy positive place to work and live.
What does high-quality care or ‘doing care differently’ mean to you?
I believe quality care is going above and beyond for the residents we look after. We want to make sure they can do the things they want, how they want to and when they want so that they feel empowered and in control of their lives in a care home setting.
What do you think makes Care is Central different?
Care is Central is a new company where everyone is part of the team and has a voice, where we can help one another and help the senior team make decisions. Being valued as part of team is important as your opinions are listened to and ideas are taken onboard.
